⚠️ READ THIS BEFORE YOU GET A TATTOO.

Tattoos are permanent. The designs TattooDesignr generates are visual references — your tattoo artist is responsible for the actual application. By using our service you acknowledge the disclaimers below.

1. Tattoos are permanent

A tattoo is a lifelong commitment. Removal is expensive (typically $200–$500 per session, multiple sessions required), painful, and may leave scarring. Before getting any design tattooed:

  • Live with the design for at least 30 days. Print it. Tape it to your bathroom mirror. See if you still love it.
  • Consider how your taste, life circumstances, and body may change over decades.
  • Discuss placement, size, and longevity with your tattoo artist.

TattooDesignr is not responsible for tattoo regret, dissatisfaction, or any decision you make based on our designs.

2. AI design limitations

TattooDesignr uses generative AI to produce design references. AI-generated designs may:

  • Contain anatomical inaccuracies, illogical details, or impossible geometries.
  • Include elements that don't translate well to skin (extremely fine detail, gradients, photographic realism that requires expert technique).
  • Bear unintended resemblance to existing copyrighted characters or works (we filter for this but no filter is perfect).
  • Reflect biases present in the training data of underlying models.

Always review generated designs critically before tattooing. Don't blindly take an AI design to a chair.

3. Your tattoo artist is the final authority

TattooDesignr generates designs. Your licensed tattoo artist is responsible for:

  • Determining whether a design can be safely tattooed on your specific body.
  • Adapting the design to your anatomy, skin tone, and existing tattoos.
  • Selecting safe inks, sterilizing equipment, and following infection-control protocols.
  • Providing aftercare guidance.
  • Refusing to apply a design that is medically inadvisable, culturally inappropriate to copy, or beyond their skill.

If a tattoo artist refuses to apply your TattooDesignr design, listen to them. They have professional reasons.

4. Medical considerations

TattooDesignr is not a healthcare provider and does not provide medical advice. Tattoos involve risks including:

  • Allergic reactions to inks (especially red, yellow, and white pigments).
  • Infections from improper sterilization or aftercare.
  • Bloodborne pathogen exposure if equipment is reused.
  • Granulomas, keloid scarring, especially in those genetically predisposed.
  • MRI complications with certain metallic inks.
  • Skin conditions exacerbated by tattooing — psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo flare-ups.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding contraindications — many artists refuse to tattoo during these periods.

Consult your physician before getting a tattoo if you have:

  • Diabetes, hemophilia, or other bleeding disorders.
  • Cardiac conditions or valve replacements.
  • An autoimmune disorder or are immunocompromised.
  • A known allergy to tattoo ink ingredients.
  • Active skin disease at the proposed tattoo site.

5. Cultural and religious considerations

Some tattoo traditions (Japanese irezumi, Polynesian / Maori tribal, Native American imagery, religious symbols, sacred scripts) carry deep cultural significance. TattooDesignr can generate designs in these styles, but generation is not the same as cultural permission.

Before tattooing culturally significant designs, especially when the design is from a culture you do not belong to, consider consulting cultural representatives or artists from within that tradition.

6. Age requirements

You must be a legal adult in your jurisdiction to use TattooDesignr — typically 18 years of age in the US. Most US states require 18+ for tattoo application, with parental consent for minors in some states. Comply with local law.

7. Pricing & commercial use

The $9 single-pack price is for digital design files only. It does not include:

  • The cost of tattoo application (artists typically charge $100–$300 per hour).
  • Aftercare supplies.
  • Print services for physical merchandise.
  • Removal services if you change your mind.

8. AI training and design originality

Our underlying AI models were trained on diverse image datasets. While we apply filters and prompt engineering to encourage original output, we cannot guarantee that any specific generated design is fully unique or non-infringing. If you intend commercial use beyond personal tattooing, consider an additional originality review.

9. No relationship with tattoo studios shown

Mentions of tattoo styles, traditions, or artists on our site are descriptive, not endorsements or partnerships. Studios mentioned in any future "artist directory" feature will be clearly identified as paid or referral-based partners.

10. Limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TattooDesignr is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of generated designs — including but not limited to medical complications, tattoo regret, or aesthetic dissatisfaction.
